The Best Contributed Paper Award is presented to the contributed paper receiving the highest evaluation score among all contributed papers presented at ISLC2026.
The award-winning paper reported a record 60-GHz modulation bandwidth and demonstrated 256-Gbps PAM4 direct modulation using a 1060-nm single-mode metal-aperture coupled-cavity vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL). The result represents one of the highest-speed modulation performances ever achieved with a VCSEL and provides an important pathway toward ultra-low-power optical interconnects for future AI datacenter networks.
