My research activity within the team of Prof. Masahiro Asada deals with applications of resonant tunneling diodes, such as using them for emitting terahertz radiation in a new generation of high-frequency amplitude-modulated radars. I hope my long research experience with terahertz imaging and sensing, and more generally with optics, acquired both in my home country of Romania and here in Japan (at RIKEN, Tohoku University, etc.), will prove itself to be useful in my new endeavor.
