Prof. Gen Hikosaka<\/span><\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">\u3000I am Gen Hikosaka, a new Assistant Professor in Prof. Sone and Prof. Chang research group in the Advanced Materials Research Core of Laboratory for Future Interdisciplinary Research of Science and Technology (FIRST) as April 1, 2026. I completed the doctoral program at this university in March 2026. My research field is physical metallurgy. During my doctoral studies, I conducted research aimed at clarifying the mechanisms of functional fatigue in shape memory alloys and improving their functional life. In particular, I focused on understanding the formation behavior of domain structures and lattice defects during diffusionless phase transformation processes. In the future, I plan to further develop this research while expanding it to a wider range of materials. By applying the theoretical framework of physical metallurgy and mechanics, numerical simulation techniques, and experimental methods for property evaluation and structural analysis that I have cultivated so far, I aim to elucidate deformation mechanisms and enhance mechanical properties of materials, thereby contributing to the development of society.
