AI-Based Information Integration Research Core
Assoc. Prof. Xun SHEN（Visiting）〔Fujisawa Lab〕
　My name is Xun Shen. I have joined the Laboratory for Future Interdisciplinary Research of Science and Technology (FIRST) through a cross-appointment with Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology under JST’s BOOST program for early-career researchers. My research focuses on data-driven prediction and decision-making under uncertainty. Drawing on statistical learning, mathematical optimization, and safe reinforcement learning, I address challenges in healthcare, caregiving, education, and energy. In particular, I will develop collaborative caregiving systems in which care robots, AI-powered wheelchairs, and exoskeletons work together by understanding human states and intentions. By connecting the strengths of both universities and promoting interdisciplinary and industry–academia collaboration, I aim to advance trustworthy, human-centered AI and its practical applications. I look forward to working with colleagues across FIRST.
